Water Sports Center
The complex, situated on a 55,000 m² site along the Florya coast, was conceived with careful consideration of both physical and urban dynamics. The building masses were positioned in response to the natural slopes of the land, while the location itself ensures direct accessibility to the Marmaray system. The main entrance is oriented toward the busiest street, whereas service and parking access are directed to a quieter street and placed within shaded areas to minimize visual and functional disruption.
To maximize views of the sea, the project reached a specific elevation that prioritizes orientation toward the shoreline. Pool solutions were developed with permeable façades, visually and spatially connecting the aquatic spaces to the sea, while also ensuring smooth and accessible circulation. Large-span pool areas were resolved through the use of space-frame structures, providing both openness and structural clarity.
The program includes an international-standard competition facility with seating for 300 spectators. Family–visitor pools and athlete–Olympic pools were arranged around a central spine, creating a connective transition route between two streets. This central zone was further activated as a civic hub, enhanced by decorative pools and water features. The surrounding expanse was integrated with linked parks and landscaped green areas, ensuring that the design remains open, inviting, and accessible to the public.
